Well everyone, I never thought that I would say this, but I am going to Texas! Yes Texas. I will be there for about 2 weeks for work at the very beginning of November. I will be in the Austin area for this time, but may make a weekend trip to San Antonio. Not sure . . .

But thats not all! I am please to announce that I will be down at

IAAPA’s 2008 Attractions expo. I will be covering it for TGE Source, and to coincide with this event, TGE Source will be reborn. As what? You will just have to wait and see. So I have a busy month of November coming up so wish me luck!

I just recently moved so I am sorry for the lack of updates. I thought I’d share something sweet with all of you. Take a look at the Downstream “Provisioned Rate”. Its unlimited! I get 30mbps per second now. So expect alot more updates in the future and some brand new editions of the TGE Source Gazette podcast!

As many of you are aware, there has been some “mystery” red track coming out of the B&M track factory in Ohio (see pictures below from Screamscape). The consensus is that the track is too wide to be any other type of coaster than a Dive machine. It is pretty clear by the type of lifthill used as well. There has been much speculation that this might be the track for the 2009 SeaWorld “Manta” coaster. This is not the case. First off “Manta” will be a flying coaster, not a dive coaster. Secondly, from the leaked concept art for “Manta” the track will not be red in any way, but will be a shade of blue.

Now where can this coaster go?

Alot of people are saying SF Great Adventure, nope think again. This coaster will not be going to GADV. This is for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I don’t see SF investing an 8 figure (10+ million) on a seasonal park. Especially not under the current management. Secondly, GADV is limited in where it could be put. The only viable place is in the “Old Country” of the park and right next to that section is a B&M Invert and Hyper. Why cluster 3 B&Ms in one place. Some may say that “They have 2 Intamin coasters together (Kingda Ka and El Toro), but the difference here is that one is steel and one is wood. Further GADV is limited in that it cannot use a tunnel for the ride, as the park is built on swampland.

Now where can it go . . . . SF Magic Mountain

Why SFMM? Simple, they recently invested $10mil on X to “upgrade” it, something that wouldn’t be done at a seasonal park. Once again, SFMM is NOT a seasonal park, it is open year round and SF would get the best return from the ride. In a recent interview with Theme Park Review, Mark Shapiro, Six Flags CEO, was quoted as saying “Will Six Flags Magic Mountain gain back the coaster capital status? In due time, absolutely.” Currently Magic Mountain has 16 coasters, and is tied for second place for most coasters in a single park (Cedar Point has 17, the most and Canada’s Wonderland has 16 as well). While Shapiro has said that in 2009, SFMM would be getting a coaster, he has said that it will NOT be a Tony Hawk or Dark Knight style coaster. It is widely believed that it will be a family ride. In the recent ACE News it was reported that Shapiro likes coasters with “big drops” (page 14) and that the new coaster will be more his style. Honestly, a Dive Coaster would fit into this as the main point of the Dive design is the drop. It is also widely rumored that SFMM will be getting some sort of Drop tower for 2009. A Dive coaster fits both of these purposes, it is a coaster and a Drop Tower in one.

I really believe that this coaster is destined for SFMM. Could it end up somewhere else, yes it can. This is just one man’s thoughts.

Well just a little update, my neck still hurts more than two days after. It sucks. I hope it gets better soon.

Well one Red Sox fan’s attempt to try to curse The Yankees were foiled on Sunday. After 5 hours of work and with Randy Levine looking on, the number 34 jersey of David Ortiz was removed from where it was buried under 2 feet of concrete. The Yankees will be sending the Jersey to The Jimmy Fund to be auctioned. Their hope is to make some good come out of this situation. My thoughts are, what was this guy thinking? Did he honestly think this would work? This is the 26-time World Champions were talking about. I always think its funny how the Sox fans always harped on the “Bambino” curse. Get over it there never was a curse. Your team just sucked for 86 years. GET OVER IT. Now I will admit your boys have been pretty good for the last couple of years, but unlike the Yankees, your just going through a phase, and I wouldn’t be shocked to see it end this year. But whatever happens, I hope it is an exciting race, cause just kicking your butt gets boring after awhile.

Well, I visited Six Flags New England for opening day. Just a few thoughts of my day. First off “Superman: Ride of Steel” was running very nice with a one train operation. 2 trains were not warranted as the park was not very busy. The park was very clean and the staff was very friendly throughout the day. The park has gone over many changes in the off season. The “Hall of Justice” and “Catwoman’s Whip” is closed off due to the “Dark Knight” Construction. “Batman:The Ride” still had the “Batman: The Dark Knight” sign on it. “Thunderbolt”, “Cyclone”, “Mind Erraser” and “Pandemonium” were all running as usual. I do however want to warn everyone about “Flashback”. “Flashback” was running VERY rough. Much rougher than I have ever seen it run. My head was slamed from left to right to slamming the back of my head against the headrest while entering and exiting the cobra loop BOTH TIMES. It has now been over 24 hours since I rode the ride and I am still in pain. It really needs some work and I hope SFNE does some work on it. Except for my experience on “FlashBack” it was a pretty good day. I stayed about 3 hours at the park and left after my headache got too bad. If it wasn’t for “Flashback” and the problems I had, I might have stayed for a bit longer.
